Who We Are

It is the mission of the Greater Lansing Jewish Federation to partner and collaborate with other local Jewish institutions to enhance Jewish life in the Greater Lansing community.  It is also our mission to participate as a member of the Jewish Federation of North America to protect and enhance the well being of Jews domestically and around the world.  To achieve its goals the JFNA supports the Jewish values of repairing the world (tikkun olam), righteous giving (Tzedakah) and Jewish learning (Torah).

To accomplish our mission, we offer the following to the Community:
The Federation has established a community calendar for the Greater Lansing Jewish community. This meets our objective of enhancing Jewish life in the Greater Lansing community.
We provide camp scholarships to local Jewish students. This meets our objective of promoting Jewish learning (Torah).
We sponsor an annual Holocaust Memorial program. This meets our objectives of repairing the world (tikkun olam) and learning (Torah).
We make a commitment to work with Dimona as our “partner city.” This meets our objectives of repairing the world (tikkun olam), righteous giving (Tzedakah) and Jewish learning (Torah).
We will support programs for young adult Jews who may be unaffiliated. This meets our objective of enhancing Jewish life in the Greater Lansing community.
We sponsor special events that attract a cross section of the Jewish community. This meets our objective of enhancing Jewish life in the Greater Lansing community.
We provide opportunities for volunteers to participate in the planning and operations of some of our programs and events. This meets our objective of enhancing Jewish life in the Greater Lansing community.
