Introduction to Judaism & Beginning Hebrew


Two classes for adults taught by Rabbi Amy Bigman

Beginning Hebrew (7:00 – 7:50 p.m.)

Don’t know an aleph from a bet? Want to be able to read basic prayers? This course will introduce the Hebrew alphabet and basic prayer words.

Introduction to Judaism (8:00 – 9:30 p.m.)

Never had a chance to go to religious school? Or perhaps you’ve forgotten some of what you learned as a child? Pursuing an interfaith relationship and want to understand your partner’s religion? Or perhaps you are thinking of becoming Jewish? Then this is the course for you! We will learn about holidays, life-cycle events, prayer, and much more.

The $15 fee for Hebrew students reflects the cost of the book. Introduction to Judaism is free for Shaarey Zedek members and $36 for non-members. (Please note: Students will be asked to purchase books to supplement the lessons taught in class.)

Classes will meet on Wednesdays, October 10, 17, 24 & 31; November 7, 14 & 28; December 5, 12 &19. (No class on November 21.)
