Religious School

About Us

The Shaarey Zedek Religious School (SZRS) is the religious school at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek in East Lansing. We serve approximately 90 students between the ages of four through
nineteen from the Greater Lansing area and beyond.
We want our students to continue growing in their love of Judaism and pride in their Jewish
identity. In other words, we want them to be excited about being Jewish!
We want our students to grow in their knowledge of and ability to participate meaningfully
in all aspects of Judaism: Jewish beliefs, prayers and traditions, Hebrew reading and
meaning, and Global Jewish culture(s).
We want to foster mentshlikhkayt (goodness) in our students.
We want our students to connect with and build a network of support among other Jewish
kids in the area.
All of our school policies and rules are designed and implemented to promote Safety and
Respect.
